Fillings are recommended if the cavity is small enough to repair; if the decay runs deeper, our paediatric dentists may recommend and discuss further restorative options, such as a children’s crown, pulp therapy, or extraction.
Baby teeth matter, especially as they hold space for adult teeth. Treating decay with a dental filling on baby teeth can prevent pain, infection and early tooth loss.
Dental fillings for older children and teens protect newly erupted adult teeth from further damage and help prevent more complex treatments, like root canals or crowns, later on.
As a parent, you might notice brown, black or chalky white marks, food getting trapped, sensitivity or a visible hole in the tooth. Your child might also exhibit pain when eating or chewing, or sensitivity to hot or cold beverages.
Highly experienced dentist Dr Prajapati (GDC 206163) has placed hundreds of fillings for babies, toddlers and children across Surrey, making her our go-to paediatric dentist. She uses modern materials and techniques, including composite (white) fillings and rubber dams, to make treatment faster, safer, and more comfortable for young patients.

My young son had struggled with other dentists and we had experienced numerous failed attempts to have required treatment completed elsewhere due to his anxieties. Our experience with MyoDental has been incredible. The care taken from all the staff to understand our circumstances, welcome him, make him feel at ease, build trust, etc. has been beyond our hopes and expectations. Michael's ability to communicate clearly during his appointments, address and empathise with my son's concerns, and encourage him to allow the treatment to be completed has been fantastic. Would very highly recommend, especially for any parents who have young children who are anxious of visiting dentists.Posted on Google![]()

We highly recommend Myodental, especially Dr Marshall’s expertise in holistic orthodontics. Our daughter, 11 at the time, had top and bottom overcrowding as well as an impacted canine. We were advised previously to remove 4 healthy teeth before braces, which we were quite reluctant to proceed with. Luckily, we found Dr Marshall who meticulously put together the best treatment plan for our daughter, including a Schwartz palatal expander (and without any unnecessary teeth extractions). 24 months later - a wide, beautiful, perfect smile. We are extremely happy with the results! Many thanks to the whole team!Posted on Google![]()

I was more than happy to travel all the way from Dorset for every appointment for my daughter. When you start doing research into the dental industry, it soon becomes apparent that not all professionals are created equal! I wanted to bring my daughter here because Michael is one of the few who truly takes in the bigger, holistic picture and not just 'straightening' teeth. He understands the importance of airway, bone formation, and over-all health. It was no surprise to me that MyoDental even have people travelling from abroad for Michael's services. Absolute professionalism and 5-star service from the team the whole way. My daughter loved going to her appointments!Posted on Google![]()

Delighted - four months on I have straight and tastefully whiter teeth. The process was surprisingly straightforward once you had got used to having the retainers in your mouth. You can see progress almost immediately. And the end result was impressive given that teeth start to meander when you get older. Michael is a delight to work with and his team patient. Their pricing is also transparent so there were no hidden charges which it always appreciated. Many thanks. P.s. my bite in back in the right place for the first time since I was a teenager.Posted on Google![]()

I had a hygiene appt today with Nicola and she was fantastic. I haven't had teeth so clean, with stains gently removed from coffee etc., in a long time. She was helpful and knowledgeable and took the time and care required to get my teeth in great shape, without causing me discomfort. I rarely think to leave reviews but I was so impressed with Nicola that I was motivated to take the time to do so.Posted on Google![]()

I had very bad overcrowding of my teeth, and I visited several clinics across London where everyone wanted to remove two teeth from the bottom to straighten them, which didn’t feel right to me. When I found Dr. Marshal, he was the only one who suggested expanding the jaw using ALF, with no need to remove any teeth. The whole treatment was excellent. Dr. Marshal was always kind and explained everything in detail. I felt very comfortable throughout all my appointments. The result is amazing - straight teeth and a beautiful smile. Thank you, I am very grateful for my smile! As a bonus, I also have a better jawline.Posted on Google![]()

I popped into MyoDental just to make a general enquiry and not only did I come out with some useful advice, but a hygienist appointment made for me two hours later. Very happy with the appointment and was very appreciative to the staff who didn't mind my fussy baby being in tow! It was a very welcoming practice and I plan to return.Posted on Google![]()

Dr Marshall was amazing fixing my son’s chipped tooth after 3 years and many refusals from others claiming he is too young to have it done. His first reaction was “what, so I can smile again?!” 🥹 Thank you, Dr Marshall for making this happen, your expertise and approachable made this experience a bliss.
Sometimes cavities are found during a routine check-up before symptoms start. Early signs of childhood cavities include dull white, yellow, or brown spots near the gumline, and catching them early is the best way to prevent extensive restorative dental work. Your child may need a filling if they have toothache, sensitivity, a visible hole, dark marks, food trapping or pain when eating.
Children’s white fillings at MyoKids Dental start from £175. Your child will need a check-up first so the dentist can confirm the tooth can be repaired with a filling.
Sometimes, yes. Baby teeth help children chew, speak and hold space for adult teeth. If decay is left untreated, it can cause pain, infection or early tooth loss.
We carry out fillings as gently as possible. Local anaesthetic may be used to numb the tooth, and sedation options can be discussed if your child is very anxious or needs more complex care.
Children usually receive tooth-coloured white fillings where suitable. These repair the damaged part of the tooth and help protect it from further decay.
A straightforward filling often takes around 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the tooth, the size of the cavity and how comfortable your child feels during treatment.
In many cases, yes. If local anaesthetic has been used, your child should avoid chewing on the numb side until the feeling returns.
If decay has reached deeper inside the tooth, your dentist may discuss pulp therapy, a children’s crown or extraction, depending on the tooth and symptoms.
Yes. MyoKids Dental is designed for children, with a dedicated children’s floor, child-friendly explanations and a gentle team experienced in supporting nervous or anxious children.
Cavities in children’s teeth can happen quickly and are caused when plaque bacteria turn sugar from food into acid, which eats away at the tooth.
