We plan treatment based on your child’s age, symptoms, and suitability. Some children can be treated the same day as their consultation, while others may require a second appointment. Tongue tie release £395 and Lip tie release £295.

Tongue-tie surgery (a frenectomy) releases tight or restrictive tissue under the tongue or lip to improve movement when restriction affects function, such as feeding, speech, swallowing, oral posture, and dental development. The procedure is relatively quick, comfortable and tailored to your child’s age and cooperation.
Laser tongue tie release:
In suitable cases, laser treatment (laser frenectomy) can be used instead of scalpel-based techniques. Laser is precise and efficient, supporting faster, more comfortable healing.

Tongue-tie occurs when a small band of tissue under the tongue restricts tongue movement. It is also called ankyloglossia.
Lip tie is when the tissue connecting the upper lip to the gum is tight or restrictive. It may affect lip movement, feeding or oral hygiene in some children.
A frenectomy is a simple procedure that releases the restrictive tissue under the tongue or lip to improve movement.
For newborns under 1, tongue- and lip-tie release may be available on the same day as the consultation.
For children aged 1 to 3, a tongue or lip tie release may be available on the day, depending on your child’s cooperation, symptoms, and assessment findings.
For children aged 4 and above, tongue- and lip-tie releases are usually provided at a second appointment following the consultation.
Signs may include difficulty latching, clicking during feeds, milk leaking from the mouth, long feeds, unsettled feeding or poor milk transfer. A proper assessment is needed to determine whether tongue-tie is contributing.
Not always. Some children improve quickly, but others need time, exercises or therapy to retrain tongue movement after release.
